CORVALLIS, Ore. - Noah Buckley, who has led the admissions program at the University of Wyoming for the past six years, has been named director of the Office of Admissions at Oregon State University. He already has begun his new duties.

As director of admissions at OSU, Buckley will help provide leadership on the university's recruiting initiatives, including attracting high-achieving students, increasing transfer student enrollment, broadening the diversity of the student body, and aiding in the growth of international enrollment.

"Noah Buckley's success at the University of Wyoming shows that he has the right blend of vision and experience to help us reach our ambitious goals," said Kate Peterson, assistant provost for enrollment management at OSU.

Buckley joined the University of Wyoming admissions team in 1998, and was named assistant director of the department less than two years later. He was promoted to associate director of admissions in 2002, and three years later, was named director.

Under his supervision, Wyoming set records for new freshmen enrollments and new transfer enrollments, and increased the university's overall new student enrollment by 10 percent since 2005 despite a 5 percent decline in high school graduates in the state. Wyoming also increased its international student enrollment by 75 percent since 2005.

Prior to joining the Wyoming admissions team, Buckley was an account executive with Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. He also worked as a scholarship coordinator for the Sigma Phi Epsilon national fraternity. He has a bachelor's degree in marketing, and a master's in business administration from the University of Wyoming.

Buckley will join an OSU admissions team that has helped raise the university's enrollment to more than 24,000 in 2011.
