CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Rev. Mitchell Hescox will speak on "Why People of Faith Should be Engaged in Creation Care and Climate" Thursday, Feb. 10, at Oregon State University as part of the Ideas Matter lecture series.

The free public talk, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held in Owen Hall 102.

Hescox is president of The Evangelical Environmental Network and is publisher of Creation Care Magazine. He will lead a seminar on the stewardship of the earth, specifically addressing biblical mandates for what he calls "creation care," or caring for the planet. He will address how Christian believers can make a difference in the climate change discussion and why creation care is needed.

Ideas Matter is sponsored by the OSU Department of Philosophy, The Hundere Endowment in Religion and Culture, and other campus organizations.
