CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's Orange Tour is about to hit the road, crisscrossing the state to honor OSU Extension supporters.

The tour, staffed by three OSU representatives, will travel the state June 22-30. At different stops, the tour will award businesses or individuals with Community Impact Awards. The awards recognize ongoing support for OSU Extension, and recipients were nominated by local OSU Extension faculty.

The Orange Tour kicks off with stops in Lane, Douglas, Coos and Curry counties. From there, the tour heads to southern Oregon, then crosses the Cascades and visits central and eastern Oregon before ending in Corvallis. A full schedule of tour stops and a list of award recipients may be found at the Powered by Orange website www.poweredbyorange.com

"This year, in celebration of OSU Extension's centennial anniversary, we wanted to take time to personally thank some of the partners who have done so much to support not only OSU Extension but their communities in general," said Rebecca Badger, OSU Outreach and Engagement marketing manager.  "These partners play a critical role in our ability to bring educational opportunities to the people of Oregon."

Oregonians will be able to follow the tour virtually, through photos, videos and stories posted online.

"We're really excited about the tour and look forward to sharing the adventure online," Badger said. Tour updates will be posted to the Powered by Orange blog as well as to OSU Extension's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/OregonStateExt) and Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/OregonStateExt).
