CORVALLIS, Ore. - The 2012 Starker Lectures at Oregon State University will begin Tuesday, Feb. 28, with the theme "Watershed Moments: People, Forests & Water," focusing on new concerns about forest and water interactions.
An introductory symposium will feature information updates on issues surrounding forestry and water. Three lectures will discuss policy; the science of forest watersheds; and a global connections perspective. These will be followed by a field trip to the "Alsea Revisited" Paired Watershed study area.

Following each of the lectures, there will be a reception from 5-6 p.m. for open discussion.
The Starker Lectures were created in memory of T. J. and Bruce Starker, prominent leaders in the development of the Oregon forest products industry, by the Starker family. They are also supported by the OSU College of Forestry and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute.
