CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet Friday, June 2, to consider the university's fiscal year 2018 operating and capital budgets. The board will also consider a liquidity management policy, short-term financing authorization, 2018 and 2019 board calendars, election of a board chair, and the presidential assessment policy.

The board takes public comment at each board meeting. Commenters must sign up prior to the public comment period of the meeting. Commenters may register by email before the meeting by contacting Marcia Stuart at [email protected] or may register at the meeting itself. There is also a public comment opportunity before the board votes on each action item listed on the board agenda.

The meeting will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union, 2501 S.W. Jefferson Way, on Oregon State's Corvallis campus. The meeting is open to the public, and the public can listen by calling the toll-free number listed on the agenda.

Board committees will meet Thursday, June 1, in the Horizon Room. The public may attend or listen to the meeting by calling the toll-free number listed on the agendas.

The Academic Strategies Committee will meet from 8 to 10:45 a.m. to consider a new academic program in adapted physical education. The committee will hear reports on the 2017 graduating class, strategic academic planning, and risk management related to lab safety. The committee also will hear presentations on athletics and on the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences.

The Finance & Administration Committee will meet from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to consider the university's FY18 operating and capital budgets, a liquidity management policy, and short-term financing authorization. The committee will also have a discussion of risk management related to research space needs.

On Thursday, the board will also hold a meeting from 2:45 to 5:25 p.m. that will include members of the OSU Foundation Board for a discussion regarding institution-foundation partnerships and the value proposition of higher education. The meeting is open to the public. This meeting will be held in the ballroom of the CH2M Hill Alumni Center, 725 S.W. 26th St., Corvallis.
