Patricia Valian Reser has been awarded the Lifetime Trustee award from the Oregon State University Foundation. The award is the foundation’s highest recognition for volunteer leaders.

Members of a search committee have been named to help Oregon State University’s Board of Trustees select the university’s next president.

Oregon State University will graduate a record 7,391 students during a virtual commencement event at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12.

Astronaut Donald R. Pettit, a 1978 graduate of the Oregon State University College of Engineering, will give a free public lecture at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the LaSells Stewart Center on OSU’s Corvallis campus, 875 SW 26^th St.

Oregon State University Foundation President and CEO Mike Goodwin will retire Jan. 3, 2020. Shawn Scoville, executive vice president of the OSU Foundation, will succeed him. Over the last decade and a half at Oregon State, the two have developed one of the premier public university foundations in the country.

Hassan Latif, Egyptologist and a former curator at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, and Aaron Wolf, a geography professor at Oregon State University, will discuss how the movement and availability of water change cultures and influence politics at the June 3 Science Pub Corvallis. The presentation begins at 6 p.m. at the Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Avenue.
