Life at OSU

People with rare diseases are at high risk for experiencing poor quality of life, including increased levels of anxiety, depression, pain, fatigue and limited ability to participate in society, a new study from an Oregon State University shows.

“Hands Up,” a set of seven monologues exploring the psyches of black men and women in the wake of police shootings across the country, will be performed at Oregon State University Dec. 2 and 3.

Auditions for Oregon State University Theatre’s winter lab theater production, “The Taming,” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and 28 in the Withycombe Hall lab theatre, 2901 S.W. Campus Way, Corvallis.

The Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra will open its 112^th season with “Our Judeo-Romano-Christian Heritage” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in the Austin Auditorium at The LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26^th Street, Corvallis.

A panel will discuss drug-resistant bacteria from the standpoints of science, art and music from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Corvallis Arts Center, 700 S.W. Madison Ave.

The Oregon State University choral program will present “Live as One – A Concert for Social Justice” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Austin Auditorium at The LaSells Stewart Center, 875 S.W. 26^th Street, Corvallis.

Artist and author Sharon Louden will speak at Oregon State University to discuss her recent book, “The Artist as Culture Producer,” at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the Construction & Engineering Auditorium at the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 S.W. 26^th Street.

Auditions for Oregon State University Theatre’s winter production, “Rhinoceros,” will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14 in the Withycombe Hall main stage theatre, 2901 S.W. Campus Way, Corvallis.

“Brilliant and Resilient: Celebrating the Power of Disabled Women Activists,” an exhibit of photographs celebrating women with disabilities around the world, will be on display in Oregon State University’s Little Gallery Nov. 12 through Dec. 8.

Oregon State University Theatre’s fall production, the classic American courtroom drama “Inherit the Wind,” will run at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 11, 16 and 17 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 and 19 in the Withycombe Hall main stage theatre, 2901 S.W. Campus Way, Corvallis.
