CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University choral program will present “Live as One – A Concert for Social Justice” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Austin Auditorium at The LaSells Stewart Center, 875 S.W. 26^th Street, Corvallis.

The program, inspired by the ability of music to promote togetherness and greater cultural understanding, will feature the OSU Chamber Choir, directed by Steven Zielke; Bella Voce, directed by Sandra Babb; the OSU Meistersingers, directed by Russ Christensen; and award-winning Native American flutist Jan Michael Looking Wolf. 

Featured pieces include “Honor Song” by Looking Wolf; “I Dream a World” and “Fences” by André Thomas; Eric Nelson’s “We are the Music Makers;”  “Glory” from the movie “Selma” by Greg Simon; Kim Baryluk’s “Warrior;” Jake Runestad’s “We Can Mend the Sky;” “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” arranged by Jay Althouse; Tom Trenney’s arrangement of “We Shall Overcome;” Vincent Persichetti’s “Song of Peace;” “All of Us” - an excerpt from Craig Hella Johnson’s “Considering Matthew Shepard;” and arrangements of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and Looking Wolf’s “Live as One.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and free for K-12 students and OSU students with ID. Corvallis Arts For All discounts apply; up to two $5 tickets may be purchased upon presentation of a valid SNAP card.
