Food Drive returns in March

Oregon State University is gearing up for the 2026 Governor's State Employees Food Drive, which takes place through the month of March. In 2025, OSU employees raised the equivalent of 457,837 meals, more meals per employee than any other participating agency in Oregon.

Contributions are gathered in three main ways: payroll contributions, food collection and fundraising activities such as fun runs, food sales and silent auctions.

“As a long‑standing partner in the fight against hunger, OSU consistently donates to the Linn-Benton Food Share, where your contributions make a lasting impact year after year,” organizer Katelin Granger said. “We hope you’ll join us again this March as we continue supporting our community and nourishing our neighbors. Your participation truly matters.”

The resources raised by OSU efforts in Corvallis benefit nonprofit agencies served by Linn-Benton Food Share, while proceeds from county Extension offices, Experiment Stations, OSU-Cascades, Hatfield and centers associated with OSU go to their local food banks.

During the Food Drive, participating OSU departments, extension offices and student groups across campus compete to be the top fundraiser. Competing units are categorized by the number of employees in each department. At the end of the Food Drive, the top three fundraising units in each category are recognized.

OSU Today will be highlighting ongoing food drive events in two ways. The digest will have a special section highlighting that week’s food drive related activities, and the OSU Today website will feature a special food-drive-only calendar in addition to the main calendar.

For more information, visit the OSU Food Drive website. If you submit a Food Drive activity to the OSU calendar, please tag it “food drive” to make sure it appears in OSU Today and on the Food Drive website.
