KBVR-FM, Oregon State's student-run radio station, began at OSU in 1965. As part of the station's 60th anniversary celebrations, KBVR assistant station manager Clara Schmidt (OSU '25) began digging deep into KBVR's history to learn more about its origins and the people who shaped it. Schmidt's journey took her to the Valley Library's Special Collections and Archives, where she learned about KBVR's beginnings in Shepherd Hall, students who advocated for the station's rights, and the countless people who helped the station become what it is today. Schmidt's work was documented in this video by Kate Zaine (OSU '25) and premiered at the KBVR 60th Anniversary Alumni Reception on June 7, 2025. For an OSU Today story, click here.
