Gov. Tina Kotek has selected new members to the Oregon State University Board of Trustees from a pool of volunteer leaders put forward by the OSU Board of Trustees after consultation with President Jayathi Murthy and the OSU Faculty Senate.
The Oregon Legislature is expected to confirm the appointment of the three new trustees and one re-appointment when they meet in September. Members will begin their service once they are confirmed.
The trustees are:
-
At-large trustee Lisa Hale, CEO of Grace Bio-Labs, a woman-owned, global biotechnology company headquartered in Bend.
-
At-large trustee Toby Luther, CEO of Lone Rock Resources, a balanced and diversified real assets and natural resources investment company in Roseburg.
-
Faculty trustee Camille Palmer, associate professor and associate school head of nuclear science and engineering, has been named to replace outgoing faculty trustee Inara Scott.
Trustees are volunteers with a commitment to public higher education. They are not compensated for their work on the board. As public officials who hold a fiduciary responsibility for Oregon State’s overall management, oversight and operational and financial sustainability, trustees are guided by the board’s core values of accountability, diversity, integrity, respect and social responsibility.
The student, faculty and staff trustees serve two-year terms. The remaining trustees serve four-year terms. Learn more about the OSU’s Board of Trustees by visiting its website.
