CORVALLIS, Ore. – Two Oregon State University professors who hold the highest honor that OSU bestows on faculty members will make presentations this month as part of the Distinguished Professor Lecture Series.

Jeffrey McCubbin, a distinguished professor of exercise science in the College of Health and Human Sciences, will speak on “Physical Activity and the Health of Persons with Disabilities: An Imperative for Change” on Nov. 20. The lecture is set for 1:30 p.m.

Lewis Semprini, a distinguished professor of environmental engineering in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering, will speak on Nov. 26 on the subject of “Microbes to the Rescue: Field, Modeling and Laboratory Studies on the In-situ Clean-up of Hazardous Waste Sites Contaminated with Chlorinated Solvents.” His lecture is also set for 1:30 p.m.

Both lectures are free, open to the public, and will be held in the Memorial Union Journey Room on the OSU campus.

At OSU, the title of distinguished professor is bestowed upon only a select few faculty members who have achieved national and/or international stature as a result of their contributions to scholarship, creative activity, research, education and service.

Accommodation requests related to disability for either of the two lectures should be made to the Office of the Provost via Nancy Hoffman at (541) 737-0733 or [email protected]. Accommodations for the McCubbin lecture should be made by Nov. 16 and by Nov. 20 for Semprini’s lecture.
