CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University will host its main day of new resident move-in on Sunday, Sept. 18, for students living in on-campus university housing.

More than 3,600 residents are expected to arrive Sept. 18, many with family and friends. Increased traffic and congestion are expected around campus. More than 500 campus and community volunteers will help with move-in.

In addition, more than 500 international student residents will arrive on Sept. 11-12, in time for new international student orientation. A steady trickle of other early arrivals will mean that about 1,000 students will already have moved into their residence halls before the main move-in day on Sept. 18, a total of about 4,600 students living on campus.

There are several new options for on-campus living this year, including a new community in Hawley and Buxton halls for engineering students who have already completed their freshman year (sophomore and above). This is also the first year for the Recovery Living and Learning Community in Dixon Lodge, a housing option focused on offering a supportive substance-free living environment for students in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction.

On-campus dining is also being enhanced with a new restaurant in McNary Dining Center, a late-night Latin food-inspired restaurant named La Calle.
