CORVALLIS, Ore. - Boston Brass, a quintet that plays a combination of classical repertoire, jazz standards and original compositions, will perform on Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at The LaSells Stewart Center on the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis.

The concert is part of "SAC Presents," a visual and performing arts series sponsored by the School of Arts and Communication at OSU.

Boston Brass has established a musical experience that includes classical arrangements to burning jazz standards and the best of the original brass quintet repertoire. The group, which formed more than 30 years ago, performs more than 100 concerts annually and appears with orchestras, bands, marching bands, jazz bands and a variety of other ensembles.

The quintet has performed in 49 states and 30 countries and has conducted master classes around the world including sessions and residencies at the Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Boston Brass also has teamed with Yamaha Band Instruments as ambassadors for the Give A Note Foundation, which provides musical instruments to schools in need.

The public performance in Corvallis will include the OSU Wind Ensemble on a portion of the program. The group's appearance also is part of a mini-residency that will include clinics with OSU brass students and a recording session with the Wind Ensemble for Mark Records.
