Oregon State University’s Vaughn Walton has joined the ranks as one of the world’s most highly cited researchers from 2019-2021 by Clarivate, a global company that provides analytics and insights in the sciences.
Brands don’t actually expect you to adopt novelty products like these into your regular culinary arsenal, says Sarah Masoni, an award-winning dairy judge and ice cream innovator who works with food companies to develop new products at Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences. Wacky ice cream flavors are usually produced in a limited run and intended to get hyped-up customers in the door, she says, “because at the same time, they’re going to buy their favorite” scoops. In America, that’s good ol’ chocolate, cookies n’ cream, and vanilla.
But Regional Fire Specialist Chris Adlam with Oregon State University says the BLM plan is a good approach and that the plan will help reintroduce beneficial fire. “We wanna avoid these large areas of high-severity fire that tend to burn again and again at high severity, and prevent the forest from regenerating,” Adlam says.
In 2000, a study by researchers at Oregon State University explored the importance of first impressions in job interviews. The study focused on 59 employment interviews with two trained interviewers taped during twenty-minute interviews. They then filled out a post-interview questionnaire evaluating the candidates on their interview performance, behavior, rapport and professional skills.
A new study led by Oregon State University (OSU) has argued that efforts to conserve the carbon stored in tropical forests would benefit by linking them to policies designed to protect the endangered primate populations that live there. Since climate change and the biodiversity crisis are two of the major problems our planet is currently facing, integrating climate mitigation and biodiversity protection has a greater potential to attract support among both policy makers and the larger public than trying to tackle climate change in isolation.

The region has experienced some level of drought conditions for the last 20 years, and although precipitation levels have been high compared to previous years, that's barely making a dent. According to Chrissy Lucas, a groundwater protection specialist at Oregon State University, "You can't make up for all of that drought and the lack of rain in one or two years."
All three parishes are surrounded by farmland, but agriculture is becoming a declining part of the rural economy. “Farmers are a really small share of rural populations,” says Bruce Weber, emeritus professor and director of the Rural Studies Program at Oregon State University. “Nationally, about five percent of the rural population is farm related. And only about two percent or of the population physically lives on a farm. Rural is mostly in the service industry or manufacturing… pretty much what urban people do,” says Weber, a member of St. Mary's Parish in Corvallis.

Wild horses: Dudley Chelton, university distinguished professor emeritus, says, “All three are photos of wild horses and were taken in mid-May 2022 in eastern Oregon. May is the best time of year to see wild horses. Foaling season is in April and the newborn foals have matured enough to be very energetic and active by mid-May. USPS rate increase: The U.S. Postal Service has announced new first-class mail price increases set to take effect July 10. A domestic one-ounce letter will increase from $0.58 to $0.60, while an international one-ounce letter will increase from $1.30 to $1.40. Postcard Stamps increase from $0.40 to $0.44. Impact the future of online education through research: Each year, the OSU Ecampus Research Unit funds projects up to $25,000 each to support the research, development and scholarship efforts of faculty in online education.
