Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue: This 10-hour course teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics at all levels of your organization. By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you’ll surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on those decisions with unity and commitment. This program consists of a series of five live, online sessions on Wednesdays 1-3 p.m. Aug. 17-Sept. 14. NEW! Core Curriculum for OSU Managers and Supervisors: Managers and supervisors at OSU play a key role in enabling employees to do their best work. The Core Curriculum for Managers and Supervisors is a training program for all OSU managers, supervisors and lead workers. At the end of this course, learners will have a solid understanding about the principles and policies that apply to our employees; know how to navigate within the space of talent management activities; recognize when, and how, to provide equal opportunity and access to employees; and be familiar with OSU resources and responsibilities relating to employee health, safety and wellbeing. UHR Learning & Development is now accepting FYI Friday presentation proposals for Fall 2022. Does your team have a new or existing service, process, system, policy or research you want to share with the campus community? Consider FYI Friday as your venue. FYI Friday is a weekly program where campus partners provide presentations for a wide audience of professional faculty, academic faculty and classified staff. Driving study participants wanted: The OSU School of Civil and Construction Engineering seeks research study participants who are at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Individuals with contact lenses or prescription lenses (-5.0 to +3.0) can participate in this study. The study purpose is to make intersections safer for bicyclists and reduce the potential for vehicle-bicycle collisions. Participants will be paid for their involvement, which requires a time commitment of approximately one hour and coming to the OSU Driving Simulator Laboratory. Dog study: The OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is seeking dogs that weigh more than 44 lbs and have a history of chronic diarrhea for a research study examining the effect of fiber on the fecal microbiome and gut health. Participation in this study involves mixing a powder supplement on the dog’s food daily for four weeks, three visits to the hospital and a $50 Amazon gift card. NEW! Crop Science Building emergency chiller shutdown: Due to a mechanical failure, the chiller that provides cooling to Crop Science is being shut down. Building occupants will notice warmer-than-normal air temperatures in the building. Emergency repairs are being coordinated with a contractor but a restoration date is not known at this time. Intermittent tree work around Cordley: For work related to the Cordley Hall Renovation Project, intermittent tree work is scheduled to occur around Cordley East on Monday and Tuesday, June 27-28. NEW! Heating water shutdown for Cordley: For work related to the Cordley Hall Renovation Project, a heating water shutdown is planned on all floors at Cordley Hall from 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 27 through 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Crews will be onsite performing piping work (view map).
