CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Music à la Carte series at Oregon State University in Corvallis opens its winter season at noon on Friday, Jan. 11. Flutist Abigail Sperling, cellist Victoria Wolff and pianist Lauren Servias will perform a program of works by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Yan Maresz and Philippe Gaubert.

The winter series continues through March 8 and features an array of classical, jazz and choral music. The lineup is:  

  • Jan. 18: Doug Detrick, trumpet; Mike Gamble, guitar; Ryan Biesack, drums
  • Jan. 25: Sunghee Kim, piano; Jessica Lambert, violin
  • Feb. 1: Sarah Kwak, violin; Cary Lewis, piano
  • Feb. 8: OSU Bella Voce women’s choir & South Salem High School women’s choir
  • Feb. 15: OSU Percussion Ensemble
  • Feb. 22: OSU Vocal Area recital
  • March 1: OSU Chamber Choir & Linn-Benton Community College Chamber Choir
  • March 8: OSU Chamber Strings

All Music à la Carte performances are on Fridays at noon in the Memorial Union Lounge, 2501 SW Jefferson Way, and are free and open to the public.

Music à la Carte concerts have been a tradition at OSU since 1969. The informal, 45 minute performances are held most Friday’s during the fall, winter and spring terms, and showcase a wide variety of musicians and performance ensembles, from local, regional and national performers to students and faculty from the OSU music program.

Hourly parking is available a short distance from the Memorial Union at Reser Stadium, 606 SW 26th St. The Beaver Bus, a free shuttle on the OSU campus, services the lot approximately every 15 minutes.
