Marine scientist Itchung Cheung is an assistant professor of practice in OSU’s College of Science, as well as the academic programs manager at Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. He specializes in experiential learning, outreach and student research training. Over spring break, he co-led a student trip to Aruba.

Two from OSU selected for the 2025 Barry Goldwater Scholarship
Two Oregon State University students have been selected for the 2025 Barry Goldwater Scholarship. The scholarship provides opportunities for outstanding U.S. students with excellent academic records and demonstrated interest in, and potential for research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. The Goldwater Scholarship serves as a living memorial to honor the lifetime work of former U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater.

10 Questions With… Vaishnavi Padaki, fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in microbiology, who will be defending her thesis in April. Padaki has created mixed-media artwork for part of her thesis which is on display March 31-April 16 in the Strand Gallery in Strand Ag Hall on the Corvallis campus.
