“There’s no glass between me and my customers. They can walk right up to me. I love getting to know people by their first name and be a part of their life.”

While a student at Oregon State, Amy spent time learning from an acupuncturist in Corvallis during one of her rotations. She worked with acupuncture patients, discussing how the prescriptions they took and the holistic health methods they employed worked together. Something clicked for her.

The experience taught her to view the pharmacist’s role as part of a whole-health solution, and that sometimes prescription drugs aren’t the best treatment for patients.

“Instead of just handing out pills, I can help my customers with their entire lifestyle.”

When Amy isn’t at her pharmacy, she enjoys being outside: running, hiking, rock climbing or spending time with the chickens and other animals she keeps on her property in Terrebonne.
