Laura Genik, director of the Michigan State University Applied Engineering Sciences program, presented Mitzi Montoya, the Sara Hart Kimball Dean of the College of Business at Oregon State University, with the Michigan State University Applied Engineering Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award on May 5 in East Lansing, Michigan.

Mitzi Montoya, the Sara Hart Kimball Dean of the College of Business at Oregon State University, was one of eight distinguished alumni of the Michigan State University College of Engineering who were honored Saturday, May 5, during the 2018 Alumni Awards Banquet in East Lansing, Mich. The annual ceremony recognizes those whose significant accomplishments reflect positively on MSU and the College of Engineering.

Montoya received the Applied Engineering Sciences (AES) Distinguished Alumni Award. Her focus on entrepreneurship has led her to teach courses on innovation and marketing strategy in the U.S., England, Brazil, Italy, Egypt, Kuwait, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Panama, and Argentina. She received a bachelor’s degree in AES in 1990 and a PhD in 1995 in marketing and statistics at MSU.
