Oregon State University faculty serving in the OSU Extension Service’s Family and Community Health (FCH) program in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences have received recognition at the annual National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) conference. Out of 522 awards applications from 38 states, they took home two national first-place awards and several top placements.

Those receiving awards are: 

  • First Place National Winner, First Place Western Region Winner, Mary W. Wells Memorial Diversity Award for “Indigenous Peoples' Workgroup.” Team: Olivia Davis and Danita Macy.
  • First Place National Award, First Place Western Region Winner, Extension Disaster Education Award for “Creating a Culture of Preparedness Publications Support Oregonians in Preparing for the Cascadia Subduction Zone Event and Other Disasters.” Team: Lauren Kraemer, Glenda Hyde, Lynette Black, Catalina Frank, Ann Murphy, Janet Donnelly, Greg Aronoff, Stephanie Russell, Brenda Marty-Jimenez, Jim Sloan, Patrick Corcoran.
  • Second Place National Winner, First Place Western Region Winner, Communications Newsletters Award for “Food Hero for Older Adults: A focus on key nutrients, food and physical activity.” Team: Cheryl Kirk, Sally Bowman, Rose Jepson-Sullivan, Dusti Linnell, Christine Mouzong, Thomas Packebush, Ellen Radcliffe, Carol Walsh, Lucy Huffman, Anne Goetze, Laura LaMotte.
