Life at OSU

“Drawing in the Northern Light,” a series of poems and photographs by Oregon State University Professor Joseph Ohmann Krause, will be on display May 28 through Sept. 30  in the Little Gallery on the OSU campus in Corvallis.

A re-enactment of an historic campus 1969 march and walk-out of black students that inspired greater multicultural programs and inclusivity at Oregon State University will take place Tuesday.

Hassan Latif, Egyptologist and a former curator at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, and Aaron Wolf, a geography professor at Oregon State University, will discuss how the movement and availability of water change cultures and influence politics at the June 3 Science Pub Corvallis. The presentation begins at 6 p.m. at the Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Avenue.

Egyptologist Hassan Latif will present “Secrets to the afterlife – decoding Egyptian tombs, language and culture” at Oregon State Science on Tap on May 30.

The Council on Foreign Relations’ James Lindsay will present “Donald Trump and Ideology” at 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

The Oregon State University Wind Ensemble presents its final concert of the 2018-2019 season at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th Street, Corvallis.

The Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra will close its 2018-2019 season with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

Essayist Melissa Febos will read at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, in the Valley Library Rotunda on the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis. A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow.
