Where in the world is associate professor Lei Xue? China

Lei Xue is an associate professor of art history in the School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts within the College of Liberal Arts, where he teaches about Chinese and Japanese art. In September 2024, he joined a research trip in China to document centuries-old inscriptions carved into the mountainside.

Where were you?

We were in a mountainous area of Shandong Province in China, a coastal province just across from the Korean peninsula.

Where in the world is professor Nabil Boudraa? Algeria

Nabil Boudraa is a native of Algeria in Northern Africa, part of the Indigenous Berber population, and a professor of French and francophone studies in the OSU School of Language, Culture, and Society in the College of Liberal Arts. He recently completed a research trip home.

Where were you working? 
The Kabylia region of Algeria, where the biggest city is Béjaïa on the Mediterranean Sea, but my work also took me to small villages and towns. 

Where in the world is professor Sebastian Heiduschke? Germany

Sebastian Heiduschke is a professor of German in the School of Language, Culture, and Society in the College of Liberal Arts. He returns to his native country of Germany every year to continue his research into East German cinema. Here he shares about his most recent trip home.

Where were you working?

My most recent research trip took me to Rostock, in the northern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) in Germany.

CLA: OSU psych professor’s award highlights progress for disability in psychology

At this year’s American Psychological Association conference in Seattle, OSU professor Kathleen Bogart received the association’s award for contributions toward advancing disability in psychology.

The conference, attended by more than 10,000 people, also included the inaugural disability networking event hosted by the APA and the Disability Advocacy & Research Network, which Bogart co-founded in 2021, for disabled psychologists from a wide range of disciplines to get to know each other.
