Oregon State University has been ranked one of the nation’s five best providers of online education for the fourth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report, judged on the strength of its faculty and the distance learning opportunities they deliver.

The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 in the Horizon Room of the Memorial Union on the university’s Corvallis campus. The Memorial Union is located at 2501 SW Jefferson Way.

LaTosha Brown, the keynote speaker for Oregon State University’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, will be unable to speak Monday, Jan. 17, on OSU’s Corvallis campus due to her involvement supporting federal voting rights legislation currently being debated in Washington, D.C.

The Oregon State University Board of Trustees on Thursday named Jackie Bangs as its new board secretary.

The Oregon State University Presidential Search Advisory Committee is holding listening sessions with members of the university and broader community to gather input about the qualities and characteristics desired in OSU’s next president. Input also will be gathered regarding key opportunities and challenges facing the university that a new president may face.

Dr. Brian Primack, a dean at the University of Arkansas with a 20-year career of advancing health and higher education initiatives, has been named dean of Oregon State University’s College of Public Health and Human Sciences. He will start June 30, 2022.

The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on Jan. 13 to consider the appointment of a new board secretary.
