For its third full season, the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts will continue to expand the number and diversity of performances offered to audiences and the community at Oregon State University.
During a recent midday performance, Brooklyn-based all-female band the Brass Queens had the entire Oregon State University concert hall on their feet, jumping and screaming with excitement to hear their cover of Chappell Roan’s mega-hit “Pink Pony Club.”
The first documented staging of a Shakespeare play at Oregon State University was in 1895, a student-run production of “Julius Caesar.” In 2006, Bard in the Quad launched with a production of “Romeo and Juliet,” and the outdoor experience was so wildly popular that two decades later, audiences still pack the Memorial Union Quad for annual summer performances.
The Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Performing Arts announced its 2025-26 season on April 30, with an increased slate of events and exhibitions to keep its many venues booked and busy.
Standout events include the new artist-in-residence, percussionist and steel pan musician Andy Akiho, along with several performances and lectures exploring the new season’s theme of “Arts + AI.”
