New special education master’s degree aims to fill workforce gaps, increase inclusive teaching practices

Amid a rising number of students with disabilities and an ongoing shortage of credentialed special education teachers, Oregon State University’s College of Education is hoping a new master’s program will help bridge some gaps in the workforce.

Since its inception in 2019, Oregon State University’s Global Hemp Innovation Center has prioritized building strong relationships with rural businesses including Native American tribal partners throughout the region.

“Moana 2,” Disney’s latest animated blockbuster that smashed Thanksgiving box office records, tells the story of a young Pacific Islander girl empowered to sail the seas and lead her people in exploring far-off islands, accompanied by the demigod Maui and her trusty sidekicks, Heihei the rooster and Pua the pig.

Each November, Oregon State University marks International Education Week with a full slate of events and receptions to celebrate international students, faculty and staff within the OSU community, as well as the global reach of OSU’s teaching and research efforts.

CoH: Building belonging, anti-racist curricula as part of ‘Transforming Academia for Equity’ grant

Oregon State University health faculty are using grant dollars to help create a culture of belonging and to ensure teaching practices are rooted in equity.

In the past two years, OSU’s College of Health has received grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation totaling $475,000 to work on “Transforming Academia for Equity.”
