Dudenhoefer named executive director of Semiconductor Economic Development

Christie Dudenhoefer has been named as the executive director of Semiconductor Economic Development and Corvallis Microfluidics Tech Hub regional innovation officer at Oregon State University. Dudenhoefer was most recently head of the Life Science Solutions business inside HP’s Specialty Printing and Technology Solutions group. She worked at HP since 1992. 

OSU’s Irem Tumer named Chair of the Council on Research for APLU

Irem Tumer, vice president for research and innovation at Oregon State University, has been named the 2025 Chair of the Council on Research for the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU).

APLU is a higher education advocacy organization, and convenes all public and land grant universities on an annual basis, with multiple councils under the umbrella that meet once or twice per year separately. 

New OSU website collects career growth resources in one easy-to-find place for current and prospective employees

A new website created by Oregon State University Human Resources aims to be a one-stop shop for anyone looking for tips to help them advance their career.

The Career Growth Resources page brings together checklists, worksheets and other documentation to help guide folks through job searching, applications, interviewing, settling into a new job, and finding opportunities for professional development in their current career.

Supervisor 101 training helps new supervisors start off on the right foot

In Supervisor 101, a training series started by University Human Resources this fall, new supervisors are given an in-depth overview of the legal and managerial responsibilities their positions entail, along with opportunities for small-group discussion.

Expanded training for supervisors is an investment in the overall health of the university and its employees, said Carolyn Warfield, director of academic HR strategies and one of the lead trainers.
