What drew you to Oregon State?

I have a dear friend who has worked at OSU for more than a decade, have visited Corvallis and the campus often and absolutely love the area. I greatly value the land grant university designation, because helping serve our communities is a passion of mine, whether that is through service programs, research projects or providing education where and when needed.

What originally brought you to Oregon State?

I was interested in doing research on different types of fermentation, and I was aware that Oregon State had one of the strongest fermentation program in the United States that attracted a lot of students. Plus, Oregon is known for its foodie culture that embraces fermented foods. And the Oregon outdoors lifestyle.

What originally brought you to Oregon State?

Growing up in Eastern Oregon, my parents always told us we had to go to college (at least partially because they had not had the opportunity), that we needed to go to an Oregon college because of cost, and it could be any big college in Oregon – just not that hippie one in Eugene!
